FLORIDA - DAY 3

We next headed to Universal Studios, as we were told that it might be better to be there on a rainy day.  We were still trying to avoid rain....which we did until the very end of the day....as you'll see

 DR. SEUSS LAND....

 HELLO HARRY POTTER.....

The photo above shows just a fraction of the wands that were being sold in the World of Harry Potter!  I was astonished at the amount of wands being sold by just one family!!!  People looooove.....Harry Potter!

The photo below is thanks to Telisha and Nate and letting us in on the secret of ButterBeer!  We bought it cold and it was very refreshing and YUMMY!!!!!!

JURASSIC PARK = Loads of laughs and fun!

 YES, WE WERE!!
I had to take the above photo just for Owen!  I know how much he loves Spiderman!  The 3D Spiderman ride was really one of my favorites of the day!

This roller-coaster ride - THE HULK - had Eldon coming off of it and stating that it was literally the most exhilarating and thrilling ride he has EVER been on!!!  And that's really saying something!!!

You all know what the above photo indicates....Eldon laying down sleeping = Pamela must be shopping somewhere.... :)

Now for the rain....
Universal had closed, we were heading on our way out and noticed they had a movie theatre that stayed open during the evening hours.  We walked on over and decided to go ahead and see the new Iron Man 3 movie there.  We had no sooner purchased our tickets when behind us we heard the crowd start screaming and running....we turned and looked to find that the rain had begun to POUR!!!!  It poured hard for a number of minutes with people running under whatever cover they could find.  We felt lucky that we had just purchased tickets for the movie, so we had somewhere to go to keep out of the rain.  Within minutes the rain had flooded up to the movie theatre doors.  It was quite crazy!  Needless to say, it stayed warm....

FLORIDA - DAY 2

With the rain that was falling, we weren't sure what we should do, but after purchasing all of our tickets, we headed out....rain or no rain!!!

WILD FLORIDA AIRBOAT RIDES
was our first stop
Riding over the Everglades, I think it may well be our fondest memory!  I love riding those awesome, load boats!  Over water, land and air.... :)

ABOVE:  Yes, that is an alligator at the top of the picture....

ABOVE:  You'll notice the dark clouds that continued to loom around us all day....BUT, it never did rain on us during the day!  We enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing day!

BELOW:
After the afternoon boat ride, we had a reservation for a dinner and Magic Show.  The dinner was serving pizza, salad, pop and popcorn all during the Magic Show.  It was held at the WonderWorks Building which is built upside down.  The dinner left much to be desired, the Magic Show kept us laughing, and the evening was really fun and something different for us.

Above:  they were ending the show singing as Sonny and Cher....The Magician dressed up a studio audience member as Cher, it was really quite hysterical, as the audience member knew exactly how to ham it up....

Notice the upside down building?  Even the light posts and trees are upside down.

FLY TO FLORIDA!...or bust....?!?!

After so many years, Eldon and I thought we might enjoy a fun vacation with just the two of us.
I thought we'd post some fun photo's of what we did each day, mainly for the benefit of helping Eldon and I remembering...HA!

DAY 1
Flying on United with two stop overs...not too bad if you know in advance...
Each plane smaller than the last... :)  until finally, we literally walked onto the tarmac and up the ramp to get onto the plane.
We made all of our flights and our luggage even made it to our location!
The bonus was finding out that Best Buy has vending machines at the airports.  We purchased an iHome speaker, just like Landon's that I borrow all the time!  Who knew you could purchase electronics out of a vending machine?

We also learned quickly that we had brought rain with us.  Not exciting, but nothing to hold us back...
