Visiting Teaching in Style!

Beverly Barager is my Visiting Teaching partner.  She recently purchased this new cute red convertible!  I made her drive me around visiting teaching on one of our nice sunny days...love it!  and love her!

Landon and Tennis! Senior Year 2011!

Landon played doubles this year.  He is playing with Andrew Bass.  They have really enjoyed playing together. They have won some and lost some.  Landon has really become quite a good player and I love watching him.  The only thing that's hard for me is that you're supposed to be quiet during tennis games....do you know how hard that is for me?!  ....To be quiet during a competitive sport game?.....
Enjoy the pictures!
getting low to drop it just over the net....the young man in the foreground is Landon's double partner, Andrew Bass.

Landon has really perfected his mean serve....

Yes....we've gone through a couple of tennis racquets and Landon has had to re-string his racquets on regular basis because of breaking the strings....He's learned how to do this on his own using the school's machine, saving us some cost and time taking them into the sports shop.  The school charges less than half the cost....

Way to go Landon!  Thanks for letting us watch all these years!

More High Adventure Pictures from Aug 2011

We just received some pictures from Brother Hatch that shows more adventures of Landon at his High Adventure.  I wanted to blog it so I can keep it in this one place.
Enjoy Landon and the Ward at their best!

Brother Jeremy Koontz and Glen Harston - young men leaders...

Landon and Andrew were so connected during this event, that they became known as "Landrew"....funny stuff...gotta remember that one!

Labor Day at the Sand Art Exhibit

On Labor Day Tami, Eldon and I went to view the Champion of the Champion Sand Art in Federal Way.  Following are some great pictures of the Sand Art!  It's hard to believe that some people make a full time career doing this.  They travel around the world.  Most are also involved in Ice and Snow Sculptures as well.  They allow 28 hours for completing the sculptures and their winning are only about $1,500.00 for first prize.  They cannot use any power tools of any kind.  It was interesting to learn of their simple and how very few tools they use.  It was wonderful to stop and observe about a part of art we rarely even think about.  Enjoy the pictures!

After we ate hotdogs and had some kettle corn we headed to Rodondo Beach Boardwalk to enjoy some sunshine....We even found a park there and enjoyed chips and salsa...
Skipping stones along the beach.  Eldon finally got one to skip 5 times!

Great day, great company and good food.  Couldn't ask for much more than that!
